If you don’t know how to vectorize your lettering, you can butcher great calligraphy if you do not have vectoring skill. On the other hand, vectoring skill can help you to smooth out and refine your calligraphy imperfections into silky smooth curves essential for taking your lettering from paper to screen using Type Design Application Glyphs instead of Adobe Illustrator. Once you have used Glyphs we will be surprised if you ever want to go back to Illustrator, as Glyphs saves you a lot of time and hassle ! It is also cheap to buy. (you will be using a trial version for this class)

You will do much more than master the pen tool in this class, you will learn about placement of nodes and number of nodes which need to be balanced to work effectively. Like anything, you need someone to show you how!

Please note that this is not a type design class! While the class will get you started with digitizing drawn letters, Designing a whole typeface is a much more involved process. However, this class is a good introduction to the capabilities of Glyphs software, which are absolutely brilliant and very user-friendly.

please note. tickets are not refundable, so we ask that you choose carefully.

This class also acts as an introduction to the Type Design software “Glyphs” which is definitely much easier and efficient to use for vectoring than Illustrator. You will find that you have much better control over your curves, and it is generally much easier and intuitive than Adobe illustrator. There are many shortcuts and tricks that we will share.

Please note that this class is NOT for anyone who has never attempted to trace or vectorise before using vectorizing software such as Illustrator.
